Terms of service
Effective 2026-10-29. These terms are an agreement between you and Six Vines Farm LLC ("we", "us"), which operates plumbspec, plumbspec.org and support.plumbspec.org. By creating an account, subscribing, or using the support service you agree to them. If you agree on behalf of an organisation, you confirm you may bind it.
What is free and what is paid
plumb and goldspec are open-source tools under the Apache License 2.0. That licence, not these terms, governs the tools themselves, and nothing here limits it. These terms cover the service we run: accounts, cases, the public question box, and the paid subscription.
A person answers every support case, free or paid. A subscription adds our judgment over your results, professional services, conversion, the deep review and hosted history, as described on the pricing page.
Reading code and documents
Code and documents you hand over to be converted into a specification, and a specification you hand over for the deep review's judgement, are read by an AI model. Before anything is read it is counted, and the account page gives a price for reading it, in whole dollars. Nothing is read until you accept the price and start it. The deep review's rules call no model, and are not priced.
Your subscription includes enough of this reading each week, Monday to Monday UTC, for most conversions and reviews; what a week does not use does not carry over. A job that needs more than your week has left is priced before anything starts, for the part the week does not include. You can pay for that part through the same checkout, as conversion budget, choose part of the job to be read, or wait for the next week. Money you keep for conversions is used first.
You are never charged more than the price you accepted. If reading costs less, what it did not use of what you paid is kept for your next conversion, and anything you keep can be refunded when you ask.
Subscriptions and seats
A subscription is sold per seat. A seat is a person who files; people who only administer the account need none, and machines and their credentials never do.
Seats are counted on your honour rather than metered. You agree to hold a seat for each person who files, and to add seats when that number grows.
A subscription renews automatically at the end of each period until it is cancelled. You can cancel at any time through the customer portal linked from your billing page; the service continues to the end of the period already paid for, and then stops. Organisations that pay by invoice or purchase order do so under the arrangement agreed for that order.
Paddle is the seller of record
Our order process is conducted by our online reseller Paddle.com. Paddle.com is the Merchant of Record for all our orders. Paddle provides all customer service inquiries and handles returns. Paddle charges any sales tax or VAT due, takes the payment, and issues the receipt; its buyer terms apply to the purchase.
Refunds are described in our refund policy.
Your account and your content
You are responsible for what is done through your account and its credentials, and for keeping them to the people and machines you intend. Tell us at once if you think one has been misused.
What you send us — cases, replies, specifications, results — stays yours. You give us permission to store and process it to provide the service to you, and to learn from closed cases: what was learned may be written, in our own words, into our public knowledge base, after a person has checked that nothing of yours is in it. We do not publish what you sent, and we do not use it to train models.
Questions typed into the public question box are different: they are anonymous, and an answer we publish to one becomes a public page that anybody may read. Do not put anything confidential or personal in that box.
Answers written by AI
The question box, marked AI support, answers from our published knowledge base using an AI model, and says when the knowledge base does not cover a question rather than guess. Answers can still be wrong or out of date. They are general information about our tools, not professional, legal or engineering advice; check them before relying on them, and open a case if it matters.
Acceptable use
Do not use the service to break the law, to send anything you have no right to send, to probe, overload or work around its security or its limits, or to resell it. We may suspend or close an account that does, and will not say why unless the law requires it.
Changes and availability
We work to keep the service running and say on support.plumbspec.org when a part of it is not, but we do not promise it will be uninterrupted. We may change the service and these terms; a change to the terms takes effect when it is published here with a new effective date, and a change that reduces what a paid subscription includes takes effect at your next renewal, so you can cancel before it does.
Warranty and liability
The service is provided as is. To the extent the law allows, we disclaim implied warranties of merchantability, fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement.
To the extent the law allows, neither of us is liable to the other for indirect, incidental, special or consequential loss, or for lost profits, revenue or data; and our total liability arising from the service is limited to what you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, or your rights as a consumer where those apply.
Ending the agreement
You can stop at any time by cancelling any subscription and asking us to close your account. We can end it on notice if you breach these terms. What you have paid for runs to the end of its period unless we end it for your breach.
Law and disputes
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Montana, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute is heard in the state or federal courts located in Montana, and both of us consent to their jurisdiction, except where the law gives a consumer the right to bring a claim where they live.
